Bail is denied for a second time for accused child molester Reeshie Surujbally.
He reappeared in court this morning charged with sexually assaulting, among other offences, two sister aged 9 and 14. He was denied bail, after the presiding magistrate agreed with the police he would be safer in prison.
The preliminary enquiry into the cases against Surajbally, a 39 technician of Princes Town is expected to begin in the next five weeks.
Mr Surajbally is accused of kidnapping and sexually touching the two girls. He is also alleged to have given the sisters alcohol.
The six charges were laid indictably by Constable Alcala of the Child Protection Unit. The charges of serving alcohol to the minors and sexually touching them were laid under the Children’s Act.
Surajbally was arrested last week by police after he was allegedly found with two sisters, ages nine and 14, in a vehicle parked along a sugar estate road in Barrackpore. The girls were allegedly taken from High Street, Princes Town.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Winston Hajarie was in court for the matter and the court was cleared of members of the public.
Mr Surujbally is expected to return to count on June 22.
