A drug bust at a house in north Valsayn nets 600 kilograms of marijuana and nine suspects.
Five men and four Venezuelan women were arrested following the operation at Mayfield Road, Ashland Avenue yesterday.
Via a statement the TTPS said officers of the Special Operations Response Team, the Northern Division Task Force, Crime Scene Unit, K9 Unit and the Gang Enforcement Team raided the house at around 2 a.m.
Officers searched a Nissan E25 panel van on the property and discovered the 600 kilograms of marijuana packaged in black garbage bags.
A group of nine is at this time assisting investigators with inquires.
In the release Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith said he intends to break the back of the drug trade and cripple their business.
This operation follows a recent one which unearthed over 2 million dollars of illegal drugs, several automatic rifles and persons held.
Commissioner Griffith said persons in the underworld lose out during these operations but that is not his concern.
Commissioner Griffith vowed that the more criminal elements commit violent crime and the more death threats they send, the harder he and his officers would swing.
The top cop said at the end of the 12 rounds, with the grace of god, good would prevail over evil and he and his officers would remain standing.
