Four more beds are added to the Intensive Care Units of the Parallel Health Care.
Last week, Principal Medical Officer in Charge of Institutions, Dr. Maryam Abdool Richards said there was only 1 bed left.
But yesterday, Epidemiologist Dr. Avery Hinds said a few more beds were made available bringing the total to 58.
However, he said 52 of them are already filled.
Dr. hinds also noted over 90% of the 52 patients occupying the beds are not fully vaccinated.
Dr. Hinds said the ability to increase ICU beds is limited, but assured health officials are trying their best.
He was speaking at the COVID-19 media update yesterday.
