Police are probing the murder of a 17-year-old boy in Laventille. Dead is Richard Noel Guy of Old St Joseph Road, Laventille.

reports say around 4:30 p.m on Monday, the teenager standing outside his home, when he was approached by a man of African descent. The suspect is then said to have opened fire on Richard hitting him several times about the body.

He managed to run a short distance before collapsing on the ground. A woman, identified as 24-year-old Dana Bartholomew, was also wounded during the incident. She was shot to the upper right arm.

The assailant fled the scene on foot. The teenager and wounded woman were rushed to Port of Spain General Hospital, where Richard died while undergoing emergency surgery.

police are searching for a suspect.
