From today it will cost $10 to travel between Arima and Port of Spain via the Red-Band Maxi Taxis.

Maxi taxi operators along the east west corridor have been given new tariffs.

President of the Route Two Maxi Taxi Association, Linus Phillip said yesterday the increase is fair and reasonable, despite some criticisms.

Mr. Phillip also sought to address concerns that new fares could create another problem for operators.

He said such concerns are not new.

The fare increase was to become effective from October 11^th, but Mr. Phillip said there were still some issues, which needed to be put in place.
