A second suspect surrenders to police in connection with the killing of a 33-year-old woman in Chaguanas.
Melissa Mohammed-Ramkissoon was reportedly shot in a vehicle, which was then driven to the Chaguanas Police Station on Tuesday night.
At around 7:55pm the driver, a 35-year-old relative of the woman, ran into the station, screaming that Mrs. Ramkissoon had been shot and killed.
He told police he and Mrs. Ramkissoon were driving along Waterloo Road, Carapichaima, with a man they both knew in the back seat.
he said an argument broke out, a shot was fired and Mrs. Ramkissoon was hit.
The third person in the vehicle is reported to have fled the scene.
The male relative was detained and a search was launched for a third man who later surrendered to police.
The 31-year-old man walked into the Claxton Bay Police Station at around noon yesterday.
He gave a different account of what happened.
He told investigators he fled and he feared for his own life.
Homicide Region 3 officers are continuing inquiries.
