Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley on Saturday told a news conference of the decision to ease some of the restrictions, which were imposed to stop the spread of the Corona Virus.

The Prime Minister said the country is now going into one of 6 phases, which will see a few sectors gradually returning to some form of normalcy.

The Prime Minister said in this phase 1 stay at home is still being encouraged.

But there are some guidelines for those wanting to go outdoors.

The Prime Minister warned, phase 1 should not be an opportunity for people to become irresponsible and reckless.

The borders of the country remain closed and so too schools and bars.

The manufacturing sector in Trinidad and Tobago will resume operations in phase 2 of the return to normalcy.

Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley said on the weekend public transport will see some lifting of restrictions.

Dr. Rowley said phase 3 would see the return of public servants to their duties and beyond that the borders will be reopened.

At the news conference last Saturday the Prime Minister again hailed the work of those in the Health Sector and the sacrifices they have made to keep Trinidad and Tobago safe.
