The water and sewerage authority confirms the Pt. Lisas Desalination Plant would be temporarily shut down in the next two weeks.
Communications Manager Daniel Plenty says the planned shutdown will have a significant impact on WASA’s overall water supply position in Trinidad. However, he says this is due to maintenance work.
The shutdown of the facility is expected to take effect from November 13th to the 23rd
Speaking with News Center Five Mr Plenty said because of this foreseen impact, the authority has put a water supply management plan in place to minimize the impact on customers.
The DESALCOTT owned and operated plant, provides 40 million gallons per day to WASA, which is used to supply the Pt. Lisas Industrial Estate, as well as augment the supply to areas in central and south Trinidad.
