Caribbean Airlines could become the national carrier for other countries in the region.
Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley made the comment at the Piarco International Airport, upon his return from a four-day visit to Jamaica.
Speaking at a media conference at the VIP lounge, Dr. Rowley said there exists a bit more appetite for a regional airline with CAL at the helm.
He said, however, any major decision will involve Jamaica, which has a 16 percent share in the airline.
He also spoke of a return of sea transport.
He believes this would improve the movement of people throughout the region.
Dr. Rowley led a delegation to Jamaica to discuss immigration and trade issues between both countries.
The meetings have been described as a success.
