Officers of the Eastern Division Task Force discover drugs in a place of worship in east Trinidad.
Reports say officers were executing a search warrant for firearms and ammunition at a home in the Grande Riviere area.
The officers then received information, which caused them to search the premises of the church directly opposite the house.
The team of officers, supervised by ASP Joseph found 2.6 kilograms of the drug at the rear of the building.
The drug was removed from the premises and taken to the Sangre Grande Police Station for safe keeping while investigations into the find continue.
The exercise also included the Canine Unit, Valencia Task Force, Special Operations Unit and Transnational Organised Crime Unit.
