Former Prime Minister, Basdeo Panday, believes the budget of the new government was a good one.
He describes it as a holding budget given the country’s economic circumstances.
According to Mr. Panday, with the measures contained in the 2015/2016 fiscal package, the government may have known what they were facing from early on.
Mr Panday says the previous adminstration kept the realities away from the people. He believes Finance Minister Colm Imbert leveled with the public, by his presentation on Monday.
Mr Panday also commends Mr Imbert for pulling away from the gas subsidy. He says it is long overdue.
