Kamla Persad Bissessar is now questioning the legitimacy of the Keith Rowley government. The opposition leader says following the ruling of the court of appeal on Monday, the 3 month-old government’s legitimacy has to be questioned.
On Monday, the court ruled in favor of the United National Congress pursuing its legal challenge of the election results in six key constituencies. Speaking with supporters as she continued her bid for another term as political leader of the UNC, Mrs. Persad Bissessar hailed the court of appeal’s ruling.
The UNC leader insisted the Elections and Boundaries Commission was wrong to extend the voting on September 7th by one hour in Trinidad. She called on members to provide the party with any information that could help its case in court.
