Heavy and persistent showers in several parts of the country overnight and earlier this morning.

The MET office says there is a tropical wave in the area and a cloudy to overcast day can be expected.

It says there will be light or moderate showers in broad areas and a high chance of heavy showers or thunderstorms.

Yesterday the MET service issued its first a diverse weather alert Yellow Level for this Rainy Season.

Senior MET Officer Carol Subrath Ali told Newscenter 5 yesterday, the passage of the tropical wave would bring wet conditions.

The tropical wave is expected to pass by 4 o’clock this afternoon.
