Gary Nunes has perished in an early morning fire at his Carenage home.
Officers attached to the Carenage police station say, they were on mobile patrol shortly after 7 o’ clock this morning when they received a troubled call.
The fire service was also contacted. Fire officials say, by the time they arrived at the scene, the house was well alight.
The blaze was quickly contained, with assistance of neighbours. However, when the smoke cleared, Mr. Nunes’ badly burnt body was discovered.
He was 56 years old. Residents told investigators Mr. Nunes lived alone.
Fire officials are to return to the scene, to determine the cause of the blaze.
Investigations are continuing.
