Lopinot residents protest over a lack of water in the area.
The frustrated demonstrators burned debris on the roadway this morning calling on the authorities for assistance.
The members Mc David Trace, Surrey Village say for the past three months taps have been dry.
Speaking with Newscenter 5 one resident Annie Maraj said the residents are fed up of the situation.
She said she has had this problem for several years and MP’s and councilors refuse to help.
Ms. Maraj is pleading with the government to address the matter as soon as possible.
Meanwhile Councillor for the area Ariel Alexis says assures the matter is being addressed.
Speaking with Newscenter 5 this morning she said a short-term solution has been put in place.
In response to Annie Maraj, Ms. Alexis she is uncertain as to whether that land has been regularized as it is a squatting area.
However she said she is looking into the matter.
Calls to the cell phone and office of the MP Cherry Ann Crichlow- Cockburm went unanswered.
