The leader of the Jamaat Al Muslimeen Iman Yasin Abu Bakr, says yes he met with Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley but it had nothing to do with his son’s reported bid to be screened by the ruling Peoples National Movement.

The Imam was yesterday asked about the controversy surrounding the claims of his son Fuad.

The young Mr. Abu Bakr has said he was promised an easy ride into the selection process for Port of Spain south constituency.

The PNM has denied making promises.

Imam Abu Bakr said he knows very little about the claims and counter claims.

He said as far as he knows, his son did not register in time, hence his failed bid to screen for the seat.

Prime Minister and Political Leader of the PNM Dr. Keith Rowley has denied meeting or having talks with Fuad Abu Bakr.

Local Government Minister Kazim Hosein was said to be the liaison between Mr. Abu Bakr and the party’s screening process.

Minister Hosein has denied this.
