Bad weather expected in the western and southern parts of Trinidad today.

People are being told by the MET office to expect rainfall accumulations in excess of 50mm.

In an information bulletin issued yesterday, the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service warned of heavy showers and thunder showers developing early this morning.

It explained that the weather system is due to local dynamics in a moist and unstable atmosphere, and that the country is not under any tropical storm threat, watch or warning.

The MET service said there is a chance Tobago could be affected by the weather system, and and so too hilly areas in Trinidad.

It is urging people to be vigilant and cautious as they conduct their activities.
