Police are probing two double murders in Morvant and Belmont. The latest incident occurred at Pelican Extension Morvant this morning.

Residents say they heard gunshots in the area at around 8 ‘O clock and contacted the police. It is said upon arrival officers found the bullet riddled bodies of two men lying in a track.

One of the men has since been identified as Akil Edwards. The other victim is yet to be identified.

And Mota Ali and Jamal Modeste were shot dead at Barton Lane Ext in Belmont. That incident occurred last night.

Residents say at around 11 P.M., 4 armed men, one of them dressed in full police uniform including a bullet proof vest and the other three with bandanas on their faces, stormed the house and gunshots were later heard.

The police were contacted. However, by the time officers arrived the two were pronounced dead at the scene.

Residents say the men had moved into the area about 2 years ago.
