COVID-19 has cost the economy some 10 billion dollars in losses.
Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley says the economy is taking a beating because of the measures, which have been enforced to curb the spread of the virus.
Dr. Rowley says a recent meeting with the Minister of Finance told of an economy under pressure.
The Prime Minister’s information comes weeks ahead of the Budget presentation carded for October 5th.
Among the 2 changes to the existing restrictions, is an instruction for all public servants who have roles to play in preparing the Budget, to report for duty.
At a media conference on Saturday Dr. Rowley again dismissed talk of a lockdown, in spite of the growing number of infections.
He said people have to do their part and be responsible in their behaviours.
Dr. Rowley said discipline is the best chance of not having to lockdown again.
