Newly named Minister of Public Utilities Fitzgerald Hinds is ready to tackle the challenges of the Ministry.

Yesterday Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley announced that Mr. Hinds would replace Robert Le Hunte who resigned late last week, following a reported disagreement with the Cabinet.

Mr. Hinds’ appointment is with immediate effect.

Speaking with Newscenter 5 yesterday, Minister Hinds said he is familiar with the Ministry and its objectives.

Mr. Hinds remains a Minister in the Ministry of the Attorney General.

He said he intends to follow the work left behind by his predecessor.

This is his second stint at Minister of Public Utilities.

He served as Minister of Public Utilities before Mr. Le Hunte was appointed to the post in 2017.

Meanwhile, Radio Presenter and DJ, Jason Williams have also replaced Mr. Le Hunte as a Senator.

Mr. Le Hunte has been removed from the Vice Co-Chairmanship of the recently formed COVID-19 Economic Recovery Team.

Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Alison West will co-chair the committee.
