Retired police man and wife found dead at Cunupia home

Married for the last 25 years, Kenneth and Leela Mackan are found dead at their Cunupia home.

Police believe they were killed one week ago.

The decomposed bodies of the couple were found yesterday morning at the house located on Welcome Road, near the corner of Raghunanan Road.

Relatives say the couple had not been seen for several days and there was a foul odor coming from the house.

Police officers made the discovery at around 10:30am.

Before the find officers stopped a SUV, which was being driven by a man in the Valencia area.

When the number plates were checked the owner of the vehicle turned out to be Mr. Mackan.

Police detained the man.

Officers went to Mr. Mackan’s home where he and his wife were found.

The couple had been married for the last 25 years.

Mr. Mackan was a retired police corporal.

And investigations are continuing into the murder of a 38-year-old man, identified as Kemraj Singh.

At around 4 o’clock yesterday morning officers received a report that the body of a man was found near his Piarco home.

Officers from the Piarco Police Station went to the home of Mr. Singh and found his body near a latrine.

There were wounds to the neck and chest.

Police say people in the area reported seeing two men fleeing the house in the victim’s sedan motorcar.
