The Coast Guard has been feverishly searching for 17-year-old Iverson Thomas, who got into difficulty while swimming at a beach in south Trinidad.
Iverson is feared to have drowned while at the Flowerpot Beach in Pointe-a-Pierre on Tuesday morning.
He was at the time in the company of a 19-year-old friend.
It is reported the two went for a swim on Tuesday morning, contrary to the Public Health Ordinance Regulations, which have closed all beaches.
Iverson’s 19-year-old friend called for help when he realised there was a problem but by the time police got to the scene the Form 5 student of the Marabella North Secondary School had disappeared.
All of yesterday the Coast Guard conducted a search but there was no sign of Iverson.
Iverson lives at Sunset Drive, Plaisance Park.
