A Port of Spain taxi driver is shot and killed in Petit Valley.

He has been identified as Kevin Stephan.

The incident occurred at Morne Coco Road shortly after 2 o’ clock this morning.

Newscenter 5 understands Mr. Stephan was driving his grey Mitsubishi Lancer near the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Petit Valley when several explosions were heard.

Residents say they then heard a loud crash.

The police were contacted.

It is said when officers arrived they found Mr. Stephan slumped in the drivers seat of the crashed vehicle bleeding from muliple gunshot wounds.

Police say they recovered several spent shells at the scene

Mr. Stephan was 30-years-old

Investigators say he was a taxi driver from Upper Gonzales Quarry Road Port of Spain.

Inspector Vincent of Western Division is spearheading inquiries.
