The Dr. Keith Rowley administration is again being told by former Attorney General Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj the responsibility for crime lies with them.

Mr. Maharaj says it is wrong for any Minister of government to lay blame on the protective services for the problem.

He maintains the sitting government was elected on the issues facing the country and one of those was the spiraling crime rate.

The former attorney general continues to condemn recent statements by a top government official, which placed responsibility in the hands of the police.

He says the right approach should be consolation between government and crime experts.

Mr. Maharaj was speaking on the showdown programme on i95.5fm on Sunday.
