The crime situation in the country is labeled a national crisis by the Prime Minister. Dr. Rowley says the murder rate for the year so far is cause for concern. He urges citizens to stop playing the blame game and do their part in reducing criminal activity.
Dr. Rowley says also of major concern is the low detection rate in Trinidad and Tobago. He says government is working to pass legislation which will improve the detection level. The Prime Minister says this law will go through regardless of non-support from the opposition.
Speaking at a special convention hosted by the People’s National Movement in Port of Spain yesterday Dr. Rowley said he is hopeful the country will survive current challenges in a dim reality.
