Twenty-nine nationals who work with the Carnival Cruise Line have begun their quarantine period.
They returned home yesterday and were immediately whisked away to the National Racquet Center in Tacarigua.
the cruise ship workers spent months on board the fantasy vessel because of closed borders, triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ship arrived in local waters yesterday morning.
A tugboat took them from the ship to the Cruise Ship Complex in Port of Spain.
At around 6pm they were taken to the National Racquet Center.
National Security Minister Stuart Young says over 300 nationals on Royal Caribbean cruise ships may be returned to Trinidad and Tobago in the coming days.
This group was referred to by Agriculture Minister Clarance Rambarat in the Upper House on Wednesday.
The Minister was responding to a question from Opposition Senator, Wade Mark, on behalf of the National Security Minister.
Today Minister Young is quoted as saying discussions are being finalised with Royal Caribbean for the return of the nationals.
