Police have held a 27-year-old man in connection with several shooting incidents in the village of Rampanalgas.
The man was arrested by officers of the Toco Police Station over the weekend.
16 charges were laid against him.
He is expected to be taken before a Sangre Grande Magistrate today to answer the charges.
Officers from both Toco and Sangre Grande CID followed a tip off into the village where the man was arrested.
He was taken to the Sangre Grande Police Station where he was interrogated.
Among the offences he has been charged with are eight counts of shooting with intent, and discharging a firearm to endanger lives.
He is also charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition, possession of an unlicensed firearm and malicious damage to a vehicle.
During shooting incidents over the past week, two people were killed.
Others were wounded.
Toco police have beefed up patrols in the village.
