Police are now investigating two overnight murders in west Trinidad.

In the first incident, 34 year old Wendell Scott was shot dead at around 7: 30 last evening in Laventille. Mr. Scott was reportedly carrying out repairs to his vehicle at Wharton Street, when several expolsions were heard.

Upon checking, relatives discovered his body in a pool of blood with multiple gunshot wounds. Mr Scott died at the scene. Besson Street police are investigating.

And at around 9:15 pm police received a report of a man seen lying on Maraval Road in St. Clair.

Officers responded and discovered a man of mixed descent, with a single gunshot wound to the head. He is yet to be identified.

Police say the victim is around 5 ft 7 inches in height and appears to be in his early twenties.

St. Clair police are seeking public assistance in identifying the corpse.
