The owner of a popular restaurant and bar in Princes Town is arrested by police. It is alleged the 41 year old woman was operating an illegal gaming house on the premises.
She was held on Friday March 31st. during an anti-crime exercise in the district.
It is said between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., officers went to the business place at Mathilda Village where they allegedly found a roulette machine and four wall-mounted gaming devices.
Investigators say when the proprietress was confronted, she was unable to produce a valid licence for the machines.
We are told 6 patrons who were allegedly operating the machines were also arrested. The gaming devices were also seized. They were expected to be charged with the offence of illegally assembling to gamble.
The suspects were expected to charged and appear before a Princes Town Magistrate today.
