Police are now investigating the murder of 35-year-old Correy St. Louis.

Mr. St. Louis was shot near his home in Morvant just after midnight on Wednesday.

Police say he was not known to be involved in any criminal activity and although a small amount of marijuana was found on him, they do not think his death was drug related.

Mr. St. Louis was a welder and father of a 9-year-old boy.

Neighbours say he was a very quiet man.

Mr. St. Louis’ father stanley said he heard the explosions and thought firecrackers were being used by people in the area.

The shooting occurred shortly after midnight on wednesday.

Mr. St. Louis’ bullet riddled body was found by neighbours after the loud explosions were heard.

He was the brother of a police officer.

The police and emergency health services were notified and a team of officers from the north eastern division and homicide bureau responded to the trouble call.

Crime scene investigators were called out and several spent shells were recovered.
