PM Scoffs at suggestion of an audit of HDC in the period he served as Housing Minister

KEITH-ROWLEY_0Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley scoffs at a suggestion that an audit at the Housing Development Corporation take into account the period he served as Minister of Housing. It was the managing director of the HDC, Jerlean John who made the suggestion last week, shortly after she was sent home pending an audit.

Yesterday Dr. Keith Rowley said that was a decision to be made by the board and as such he was ignoring the suggestion. Former Housing Minister Emily Gaynor Dick Forde who served under the last Patrick Manning administration has also made a similar suggestion. Dr. Rowley is not impressed.

The Prime Minister said the board of the HDC, chaired by Newman George, husband of the House Speaker, must be allowed to make decisions it feels are in the best interest of the country and the company. He said after certain revelations from the housing minister marlene mc donald, an audit was obviously necessary.
