Chief secretary Orville London says he has no interest in becoming the president of Trinidad and Tobago.
He was speaking on the All Inclusive Family Show on i95.5fm yesterday.
Mr London again hinted that this is his last term as Chief Secretary. He said the time had come for him to hand over the baton.
Meanwhile, on the issue of crime on the island Mr London admitted the situation was cause for concern. He called for policies to improve the perception of security.
Last month, British attorney Richard Wheeler and his wife Grace were murdered at their Carnbee home.
Two men, a Tobagonian and a native of St Vincent & Grenadines, have since been charged with the killings.
