The crackdown on illegal vending continues in the city of Port of Spain. Mayor Raymond Tim Kee said yesterday the crackdown is gaining traction. He also said the safety of about 300,000 people who traverse the nation’s capital city has been beefed up.
Mayor Tim Kee said there are twice the complement of plainclothes and uniformed police officers now on the city streets. The mayor along with a team from the Port of Spain Corporation yesterday toured Charlotte, Queen, Frederick and Henry streets. They said they wanted to get a grasp of the illegal vending situation as well as other situations. Mayor Tim Kee had to interact with several people in the city who had complaints and suggestions of one kind or another.
