Bloody weekend; police probe 6 murders

crime scenePolice are probing 6 weekend murders, among those killed a father and his 15 year old son.

The latest incident occurred yesterday in Arouca. The victim is identified as Calvin Joseph.

Reports say around 11:30am, Mr Joseph was at a barber shop located at the corner of St Hill Street and the Eastern Main Road in Arouca with friends, when they were approached by a man who opened fire.

23 year old Mr Joseph was hit in the chest. He is said to have ran a short distance, but collapsed on the pavement and died. Mr Joseph lived at Coconut Drive, Morvant. Detectives say the bullets were meant for one of Mr Joseph’s friends.

And earlier in the day Nigel Maloney was shot and killed while at a christening party at North Eastern Settlement in Sangre Grande. That incident occurred around 9.45am. According to reports 37 year old Mr Maloney was liming with friends at Road Three when several shots were heard.

He was later found with gun shots to the head and back. Mr Maloney died at the scene.

And police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the murders of a 37-year-old father and his 15-year-old son as they slept at their Quarry Road, Heights of Guanapo home. They are Wendell “Green” Robinson and his son Dominic Robinson.

The bloodied bodies of the father and son were found at about 6 a.m. on Saturday, on a bed with gunshot wounds to their upper torso and heads.

And earlier on Saturday Nicholas Mohammed was shot dead while at the Spotlight Bar in Curepe while 18-year-old Schermicheal Bynoe was shot and killed during a robbery at his laventille home. That incident occurred on Friday afternoon
