Former Concacaf president Jeffrey Webb has been granted some amount of leniency by the US court in order to provide care for his two-year-old son.
Webb, who is currently under house arrest at his home in Atlanta, Georgia, will see the conditions of his incarceration amended. Previously he had only been allowed to travel within 20 miles of his Loganville home.
However, the new arrangement will allow the former FIFA official to travel 50 miles between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. seven days a week “for the purpose of running errands and to facilitate care of his infant son.”
Webb’s attorney’s argued had presented the case that he was the sole caregiver of his son while his wife Dr. Kendra Gamble-Webb is at work. In addition Gamble-Webb, who was not charged in relation to her husband’s case, has had her had her travel documents returned.
Webb will face sentencing next month for charges that include racketeering and corruption in relation to his time as a FIFA official.
The former FIFA vice president is accused of taking millions of dollars in bribes in exchange for awarding commercial rights for certain football tournaments in the region. His sentencing is set for June 3.
