It’s world down syndrome day today.
Attorney at law and wife of Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley, Sharon Clarke-Rowley says, March 21st each year, should not only be a celebration for those with the condition.
The theme chosen for this year’s down syndrome day is “End the Stereotypes”.
Mrs. Clarke Rowley says, it should also be a time for highlighting and acknowledging the challenges they face.
Mrs. Rowley adds that health priority should be a priority as people with Down syndrome, are susceptible to illnesses.
Meanwhile, president of the council of community living in Ontario, Nicole Flynn, longs for the day that people living with D.S are given a fair chance.
