There is no I.D yet on the body of a man found in waters off Chaguaramas.
However, Coast Guard officials believe it may be that of a man who went missing in the waters off Carenage on Friday.
The body surfaced yesterday morning at Alice Point, near Hart’s Cut in Chaguaramas.
Coast Guard Public Relations Officer Lieutenant Commander Kirk Jean-Baptiste said around 7.15 a.m. the Coast Guard received a telephone call from prison officers en route to Carrera Island who spotted a body.
A Coast Guard interceptor arrived and the body was taken to their headquarters at Hart’s Cut following which it was then handed over to Carenage Police who took the corpse to the Port of Spain mortuary.
