Fitzroy Harewood is appointed president at state owned Petrotrin. Mr. Harewoood replaces Khalid Hassanali whose tenure comes to an end on October 31st.
A release from the company says Mr. Harewood’s appointment comes into effect after the tenure of the current president officially ends.
The release says Mr. Harewood, brings to Petrotrin over 29 years of technical and leadership experience.
It says he has served at TRINTOC and YARA Trinidad Limited, also at Powergen as general manager since 2011.
The release says Mr. Harewood is a graduate of the University of the West Indies with a BSC Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies along with an MBA from Andrews University.
It says having lived most of his life in south Trinidad, Mr. Harewood is familiar with the socio-economic and cultural environment in which the company operates and that, together with his knowledge and experience, can help Petrotrin overcome its current challenge.
In formal communiqués to the organization chairman Professor Andrew Jupiter extended best wishes to both the outgoing and incoming presidents.
He also reminded employees of the importance of all working together towards making the company a sustainable and viable organization.
