TTDF ANNOUNCES MAJOR CHANGES FOR THE UPCOMING INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS…

The Defence Force has announced very few changes to the route of the Independence Day.

Military parade in the capital city on August 31st.

Since the northern side of the Queens Park Savannah was announced as the venue, for the start of the annual parade there have been concerns and queries.

The concerns have been mainly about preserving the green space.

Yesterday, Chief of Defence Staff Don Polo said, nothing much has changed.

He said, members of the public could line the route as usual.

Gold commander for the event next Monday, DCP Suzzette Martin said, police will be very present.

At a news conference communications strategist Jerome Lewis said, the events planned for later in the day would be spectacular.

He said, several situations have been considered including the use of silent fireworks.

The nation is celebrating its 64th Anniversary of independence.
