SEVEN DAY SUSPENSION FOR STUDENTS OF THE NORTH EASTERN COLLEGE IN SANGRE GRANDE…

The principal of the North Eastern College in Sangre Grande is recommending an extended suspension of, four students involved in a fight.

The incident occurred not too far away from the school, hours after the start of the new term on Monday.

Education Dr. Micheal Dowlat has confirmed, there was a fight and a decision was taken to suspend the boys.

The minister says, the recommended extension of the seven-day suspension is to be considered according to the process, which exist at the ministry.

It is said, the principal of the school met yesterday with the boys and their parents.

This incident would have occurred after, Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar advised principals to send unruly students home.

Some have agreed with the prime minister’s suggestion, others say it is not a good idea.

The president of the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Association Crystal Ashe earlier this week said, other options should be considered.
