Thousands of school students are returning to classes today, the first day of the new term.

The return ends the last two months of vacation.

Education Minister Anthony Garcia is again giving the assurance that schools under repairs will be ready.

President of the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Association, Devanand Sinanan is hoping the minister’s assurances are valid.

He says the minister has already been warned.

Mr. Sinanan says his union is ready to do what has to be done if such situations occur.
