Police Commissioner responds to complaints made by officers attached to the PM’s security detail

The Office of the Police Commissioner responds to complaints by officers attached to the Prime Minister’s security detail. Yesterday the representing Police Social and Welfare Association noted that several officers are unhappy and are requesting transfers because of the workload.

On hearing of the situation last evening, Head of Corporate Communications for the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Ellen Lewis responded saying, the matter will be investigated. Yesterday President of the association Anand Ramesar explained officers are working excessive hours for low pay. Inspector Ramesar is said to meet with Commissioner Stephen Williams but believes the situation calls for attention. Inspector Ramesar was speaking with Newscentre 5 yesterday.
