One opposition Member of Parliament slams the government on what she describes as the exploitation of senior citizens.

In her contribution to the Budget debate MP for Chaguanas east Vandana Mohit zeroed in on the Social Welfare Ministry headed by Minister Donna Cox.

MP Mohit also questioned what she called the exploitation of the nation’s poor and elderly and believed something is amiss with the increase in the retirement age.

Ms. Mohit said government continues to preach that it is helping, but citizens are still suffering for the basics.

In her contribution on Friday Minister Cox said government has taken and continues to take care of all citizens.

She said no one was left behind.
