No arrests yet following the murder on teenager Sumiyya Davis

images-6Police are continuing their probe into the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Sumiyya Davis.

The girl was last Saturday shot in the hip while in her bedroom studying.

She died later at the Chaguanas Health Facility.

It is believed a stray bullet struck and killed sumiyya at her Mandela Drive, Carapichaima home.

But another theory being examined in the possibility that the bullet may have come from a gun within the household.

Her distraught mother Carolyn Davis can’t say.

She said yesterday since her daughter’s death there have been many reports as to who is responsible.

She said she is hearing that the bullet came from within her house and from the gun of a relative.

But Ms. Davis is not so sure of that theory.

The girls grandmother Carol Devenish said yesterday she was shocked by the incident.

Outside the Forensic Science Center yesterday Ms. Devenish told reporters the teenager had big dreams, as was evident in the last conversation they both had.

Police say they are continuing their investigations.
