The Mighty Composer aka Fred Mitchell

The calypso fraternity now mourns the death of veteran bard, Fred “Mighty Composer” Mitchell.

Mr. Mitchell died at the Eric William Medical Sciences Complex yesterday morning at the age of 83 year.

Newscenter 5 understands Mr. Mitchell had been hospitalised for the past two weeks with a heart condition and other health issues.

Composer was instrumental in strengthening the Trinbago Unified Calypsonians’ Organisation.

Speaking with Newscenter 5 yesterday former Calypso Monarch, Duane O’connor said Composer’s death was yet another blow.

He said he visited Composer at hospital days before his death.

In recent weeks the community has lost The Mighty Shadow, Winston Bailey, The Lord Superior and The Original Defosto Himself….Winston Scarborough.
