One of the muslim men who recently returned home after being imprisoned in Venezuela is remanded for fraud charges.
Wade Charles was arrested and slapped with one count of fraud at the Piarco International Airport.
He appeared in court yesterday.
The charge read that between August 2nd 2011 and December 20th , 2013, Mr. Charles fraudulently converted over $279,000 entrusted to him by Ganesh Jaglal as a down payment for the purchase of a truck.
When called upon to plead, he entered a plea of not guilty.
He was granted $120,000 bail, and instructed to report to the San Fernando Police Station twice per week.
However Newscentre 5 understands he was unable to secure bail due to the absence of the Justice of Peace and is now spending a fourth night in custody.
