An assurance today that Tobago’s best interest would be front and centre as discussions continue between this country and officials from Sandals Resort.

Since the announcement of Sandals’ impending arrival many Tobagonians have become vocal, airing their views both for and against the plan.

Many concerns have been raised, mainly having to do with the location of the resort.

However Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley is promising to protect all of Tobago’s interest in the matter.

Speaking at a party function on Wednesday evening at the Signal Hill Secondary School Dr Rowley said the resort would be the best of all resorts under the Sandals brand.

The Prime Minister also outlined some of the infrastructural tasks to come on stream to cater to the resort.

Dr Rowley said all these projects should be in place by the year 2019.
