There is call for Housing Minister Randall Mitchel is told to demit office with immediate effect.

According to the Member of Parliament for Oropouche East, Dr. Roodal Moonilal, the Minister has abdicated his responsibility and abandoned the people.
Dr. Moonilal says the hopes of over 100,000 citizens have been dashed by the betrayal of the Keith Rowley led PNM government with the announcement that citizens should build their own houses.

Speaking with Newscenter 5 yesterday Dr. Moonilal said innocent persons will suffer.

Dr. Moonilal who is a former housing minister said to this day since 2015 the Estate Management & Business Development Co. Ltd has failed to distribute one lot of land to the former Caroni workers.

Newscenter 5 made several attempts to contact the minister for comment but calls to his phone went unanswered.
