AG to determine if to extradite UNC financiers.
30th July 2010.

Attorney General Anand Ramlogan is now expected to decide whether UNC financiers Ishwar Galbaransingh and Steve Ferguson should be extradited to the United States on several charges.
Both men yesterday lost a constitutional motion challenging the legality of an extradition request from the U.S.
Justice Vasheist Kokaram yesterday ordered the conservatory order discharged. The order was issued on June 16th preventing Mr. Ramlogan from allowing the extraditions.
In a 25 page summary ruling yesterday, Justice Kokaram dismissed the grounds brought by the legal team representing the two businessmen.
He said there is no right guaranteed by the constitution not to be extradited and the ability to extradite a fugitive is a long recognised feature of international law.
Justice Kokaram said it is integral to the international criminal process and Trinidad and Tobago cannot be a safe haven for criminal activity.

In the ruling the judge also said the businessmen were not being banished neither are they being sent into exile.
Mr. Galbaransingh and Mr. Ferguson are wanted in Florida, where they were indicted on fraud charges linked to the construction of the Piarco airport terminal building.

We do not have a judicial system yet, in place, in The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to convict criminals with plenty money. So ship them out with Mr. Patrick Manning and his past administrations to the United States of America where justice can be serve for the good people of this country. Marlene La-brea

Dear Marlene, .. The majority of people in this country support your recommendation. However we would prefer we first enact and enforce the death penalty across the board for Mass Murderers, Pathological Liars and big thieves with bottomless pockets before we start persecuting those monsters here in TnT.   LAUNDERING IS FOR THE LAUNDRIES, AT HOME OR ABROAD! In US law, money laundering is the practice of engaging in financial transactions to conceal the identity, source, or destination of illegally gained money. 7/30/2010

Corrupt officials must not only be brought to justice and be made to pay in whatever form necessary but their successful prosecution must allow the state to recover monies from flawed contracts, cost overruns, excessive spending and the like. It is the only way to deal with the past in setting the tone for the future and at the same time, serve the people, serve the people, serve the people. Dr Errol Benjamin

The psyche of our nation appears to have been affected by the repeated raping of our treasury by our elected politicians, their families and friends . We appear to accept senseless killings and tragic events as routine, where we don't often remember the victims after the events have passed. We appear not to have learnt anything with each gang of political thieves, senseless killing, each unscrupulous and daring robbery, each vile rape and each vicious assault on the good people of this nation. We rely on the PP to put an end to the hopelessness in our nation mainly through convictions here or abroad.
